political voice news,july 24th,2023:Echoing the slogan ‘Each one ,Plant one, the annual Haritha Haram programme was organized in Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills this year on 24 th July ,2023 in the school premises, which also included the birthday celebration of our Honarable Minister of IT, Shri
Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao.
The school was honoured to welcome esteemed dignitaries for the programme .The occasion
was graced by Chief Guest, V Srinivas Goud Honourable Minister for Excise &
Prohibition, Sports and Youth Service and Archaeology Government of Telangana
Hyderabad, the esteemed guest of honor, Forest Range Officer HMDA Government of
Telanagana Smt. Saleha Aphrose , Visionary Chairman Mr. M Komariah , young and
dynamic COO-Delhi Public schools and Pallavi group of schools- Mr Yashavi Malka,
Principal-Mrs Nandita Sunkara and Vice-Principal Mrs I sudha.
Right from the inception of Haritha Haram, the school has taken active participation in it,
and has left no stones unturned to promote this noble cause. The school has also taken up
initiatives of conserving water, electricity and protection of the environment.
A special programme was conducted to sensitize the students and create awareness among
the school community about the need for a greener earth. The students and staff took a green
pledge to plant more saplings and save the planet. Apart from the plantation drive in the
vicinity of the school campus by the Chief Guest, the revered dignitaries and School Green
crusaders, the entire students and staff of the school took up plantation of nearly 2000
saplings. Besides this, each and every student and staff member was presented a sapling to
plant at home as well, extending the institution’s efforts to promote green cover beyond the
four walls of the school.
The Chief Guest Shri V Srinivas Goud, in his address, lauded the efforts of the school in
promoting a greener environment .He urged the students to contribute their best for the
conservation of the environment by planting more trees. The Principal Mrs. Nandita Sunkara
reiterated the importance of trees and reverberated the vision of our enigmatic school
Chairman, Shri Malka Komariah –an environmentalist and a relentless conservationist, to
promote a vast green cover for a better tomorrow. Guest of Honour, Smt Saleha Aphrose
speaking on the occasion appreciated the efforts of the school management in inculcating
this green initiative in our future generations and applauded the ‘Swap to Save’ campaign,
recycling of plastic bags with Eco friendly bags, an intiative by the COO of the School, Mr.
Yasasvi Malka.
The school stresses upon the importance of our green friends and consistently encourages
the DPSites to work towards a greener and cleaner environment, spreading a strong message
of nurturing nature for a better future.
