Political voice news.com, Hyderabad, 24th September 2024: Granules India Ltd, a prominent pharmaceutical company based in Hyderabad, has unveiled its Mobile Cancer Screening Unit, named Breast Health Express, at AIG Hospitals. This initiative, driven by the Granules Trust in collaboration with Asian Medical Foundation, UC Breast Foundation, and AIG Hospitals, aims to improve cancer detection and treatment in underserved communities across Telangana.

The Breast Health Express is a cutting-edge mobile unit equipped with advanced mammography, ultrasound, and facilities for essential health checks such as haemoglobin, blood pressure, and glucose levels. This initiative brings crucial medical technology directly to communities with limited access to healthcare. It marks a major step toward equitable and accessible healthcare, with a particular focus on early breast cancer detection and awareness. Additionally, free medicine distribution is included as part of the mobile unit’s services.
Commitment to Public Health
Mrs. Uma Chigurupati, Executive Director of Granules India Ltd and Chairperson of the Granules Trust, emphasized the long-term vision for community well-being:
“The launch of the Breast Health Express exemplifies Granules India’s core belief in innovating beyond pharmaceuticals to make a direct impact on public health. This initiative highlights our commitment to addressing healthcare disparities, especially in rural areas where access is limited. We are determined to ensure that breast cancer screening services are available to underserved populations, reinforcing our belief that healthcare should be accessible to all.”

Public-Private Partnerships to Address Healthcare Gaps

Raising Awareness and Supporting Treatment
Dr. Pragnya Chigurupati, Consultant Breast Oncologist at AIG and Founder of UC Breast Foundation, discussed the broader impact of the initiative:
“Beyond screenings, the Breast Health Express will raise awareness about breast health and empower women to perform regular self-examinations. Through this initiative, along with the UC Breast Foundation’s efforts, we aim to promote early detection and provide financial assistance to women in need of critical treatments, such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.”

Support from AIG Hospitals
Mr. PVS Raju, Vice Chairperson of AIG Hospitals, expressed the hospital’s dedication to this cause:
“At AIG Hospitals, we are proud to support the Breast Health Express in collaboration with our partners. This mobile unit will play a key role in providing essential breast cancer screening services to underserved regions. Our goal is to raise awareness of early detection and improve health outcomes for women.”
